Fresh Paint Art Fair

Tel Aviv-Jaffa 5-8 May 2010

Following its success in the last two years, the Fresh Paint contemporary art fair will open in Tel Aviv at the Jaffa's Harbor, 5-8 May 2010. Fresh Paint is an extraordinary opportunity to broadly explore and support the lively Israeli art scene. The fair, which enjoys the support of leading art institutions and brings together all the significant players in the Israeli art world, attracts the interest of the local and international art crowd.

While following the formula of professional art fairs around the world, Fresh Paint is unique in its role as a launch pad for the careers of promising, unrepresented artists. The Artists' Greenhouse at Fresh Paint, set alongside presentations of established contemporary art galleries, showcases the works of such independent artists, all carefully selected by a professional panel, exposing them to curators, gallery owners, collectors and the public at large, while enabling them to sell their work and enjoy the fruits of their talent. Fresh Paint prides itself on its professional program of special projects and commissioned works by the fair's independent artists.

Fresh Paint also offers an educational program of lectures and encounters with Israeli art and artists, as well as community projects and fund-raising activities to benefit several nonprofit organizations. An award is presented by the Igal Ahouvi art collection to the most promising independent artist at the fair and one noteworthy work by an independent artist is selected for sale at the Sotheby's Israeli art auction in New York.

Fresh Paint 3 will also include a video lounge showcasing an exhibition of independent artists' video works alongside a screening of a rich, international video art program.
